I am a trained scientific instrument designer, inventor and successful businessman, and I have been a consultant Design Engineer in many countries including the USA, Italy, Germany, designing in the Domestic Appliances and Amplification industries.
I have been an Elected Local Councillor in London and for 12 years in Bournemouth where I currently live. During my term, with the Local Authority in Bournemouth, I had many leading roles including, Cabinet Member for Adult Services, Cabinet Member for Children & Young peoples’ Services, Chairman of the Health Panel, Vice Chair of the Fire Authority and culminating as First Citizen and Mayor of Bournemouth.
I also have an involvement in international public relations, as an example, I brought a team of 8 leading dignitaries from China to visit the UK and my town. The dignitaries had heard about our 4-day yearly Air Festival, the 10th largest outdoor event in the World, and wanted to replicate this event in their part of China. They have since completed that task and I understand it is very successful.
